We handed in a second letter to the town hall on February 21st regarding the state of many of our streets. The letter is reproduced below, in translation:

Mojácar, 21 de febrero de 2007.
Sr.Alcalde
D. Gabriel Flores Flores
Mojácar
Dear Sir,
We have widened our small investigation into the streets of our municipality and we have found out:
· The asphalt on Rambla de los Terreros is in an appalling state, it is full of very deep potholes. The bins are old and dirty. There is also garden waste next to the bin that has been there for at least 6 months.
· Calle Granada is very dirty, full of dust generated from a nearby construction site. This road hasn’t been cleaned in months and when it has, the machine only cleans the centre of it.
Another problem is that this area doesn’t have any public street lighting, this is a hazard for the residents. The few streetlights that their is are being payed for by the people of the urbarnizations. Urb Campomar has been paying for their lights for the last 15 years.
· Calle Camino las Marinas is also in an awful state, this one doesn’t have any asphalt at all. Another problem the residents have, is the illegal constructions that are going on.
·Calle Jesús de Perceval is in need of speed bumps, as the road seems to of become a part of a rally course.
We also enclose some photos taken of the roads to illustrate the problems with the hope that that you take the pertinent measures with the greatest urgency.
